Privacy Notice
Last updated: 19 May 2026
This notice explains what information integrative-medicine.org ("we", "the site") collects when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Latvian Personal Data Processing Law.
1. Who we are
The site is published by the integrative medicine team behind the book Treatment of Autoimmune Diseases: An integrative and holistic approach, working with DAP klīnika in Riga, Latvia.
For any privacy question, contact us at:
- Postal: DAP klīnika, Lastādijas 40, LV-1046 Riga, Latvia
- Via the contact page
2. What we collect
2.1 Automatic information (analytics)
When you visit, our analytics provider (Google Analytics 4, property G-XJN7LYZNSV) may collect:
- Pages you view, time spent, and the link or search that brought you here
- Approximate location (country, region — never a precise address)
- Device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
- An anonymised identifier used to recognise return visits
This data is collected only after you press "Accept" on the cookie banner. Until then, Google Analytics runs in "cookieless" mode and sends only aggregate pings that cannot identify you.
2.2 Information you give us
If you fill in a contact form, request a free chapter, or subscribe to a newsletter, we collect the information you submit (e.g. name, email, message). We use that information solely to reply to you or send the material you asked for.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use:
- Strictly necessary: a small entry in your browser's localStorage (
im_consent_v1) that remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. No consent is required for this — without it, we cannot honour your choice. - Analytics (optional): Google Analytics 4 cookies (
_ga,_ga_*). Set only after you accept. Retention: up to 14 months.
You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing site data in your browser, which removes the saved choice and shows the banner again.
4. Embedded third-party content
Some pages embed content hosted by third parties. When you view a page with that content, your browser contacts those providers directly, and they may set their own cookies or log your IP address. We do not control what those services collect.
- Instagram feed (via Behold.so) — thumbnails and post metadata for our Instagram profile.
- Google Fonts — typeface files served from Google's CDN.
- Tailwind CDN — styling files served from
cdn.tailwindcss.com. - Video — currently self-hosted (no third-party tracker), but this may change.
5. Legal basis
Under GDPR Article 6, we rely on:
- Your consent for analytics cookies (Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Legitimate interest for storing your consent choice itself, and for keeping the site secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Pre-contractual or contractual necessity for information you submit through forms (Art. 6(1)(b)).
6. Who sees the data
- Google Ireland Limited — analytics processor.
- Behold.so — Instagram feed embed.
- Our hosting provider — to operate the website.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
7. International transfers
Google Analytics may transfer data outside the European Economic Area (typically to the United States). Such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us to:
- Confirm what data we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Receive a portable copy of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
You also have the right to complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (www.dvi.gov.lv).
9. Changes
If we change this notice, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes that affect how your data is used, we will show a notice on the site.
